Lowen Rae

Lowen Rae writes songs for the drive home. Born in Margate and based in London, she released the Low Light EP in 2024 on Halide Records, four songs cut live to tape that found their way onto late-night radio and into a few very good films.

Slow Chrome is the first full-length record. Written over one winter in a borrowed house by the water, it trades the EP’s hush for something shinier: motorik drums, detuned pianos, and choruses built to be sung back at a stage.

2023

First songs

Writes and records demos in a shared flat in Peckham with a borrowed drum machine and a broken Wurlitzer.

2024

Low Light EP

Signs to Halide Records. The EP is cut live to tape in two days and gets its first late-night radio play the week it comes out.

2025

The winter house

Moves into a friend’s empty house in Whitstable for the winter and writes most of Slow Chrome looking at the sea.

2026

Slow Chrome

Three singles, a sold-out headline show at Paradiso and, on October 24, the debut album.
